* Promos for active and upcoming fandoms are welcome, including gift exchanges, big bangs, zines, prompt fests and more!
* Try to avoid spamming the comm. You don't need to be regimented about it, but consider that as a general rule of thumb, roughly one promo post per event per week would be polite--not counting mentions in lists or "Signups close today!" kind of reminders.
* Multifandom and fandom-specific events are welcome!
* Collections/lists of upcoming events are also okay! But you may want to keep it themed for maximum relevancy, e.g. events for a fandom, or events for the coming month, or events for podficcers.
* This is not a commissions promotion comm. Mods reserve the right to remove those.
Best practices:
When you're promoting an event here, I recommend including the following information. This isn't a demand, but it will help you get the most out of your post.
* A description of the event, including what type of event, what fandoms, what media and any themes or hard do-not-wants. e.g. robot characters only, or no nsfw
* The schedule or at least the start date
* A link to where the event is being organized/where potential participants can find more information
* Post tags
Note: Be aware that people who don't have Tumblr or Twitter accounts may be unable to view your post, due to authentication walls.
Tagging guidelines:
Event promos benefit from findability! Make sure to include the event name(s), and tags for the following categories are strongly recommended. If you want to be more thorough and informative, you can find more in this post.
1. Fandom: multifandom or the name of the fandom. Ideally, try not to use abbreviations, for maximum findability.
2. Type of event:
- prompt fest
- gift exchange - including fic exchanges, art exchanges, etc.
- bingo
- big bang
- comment fest
- zine
- The community is not limited to these events specifically. Some other possibilities: remix, shipping week, character week, watch along, etc.
3. Accepted media types/entries: multiformat, fic, art, podfics, vids, comments, meta, etc.
